Note to carriers: As of 1 February, the route ticket will be valid for a period of 120 minutes!

As of 1 February 2025, there will be a change in one of the legislations regarding the e-toll system. As a result of this change, from this date on, the route ticket will be valid for a period of 120 minutes from the time of purchase.

The time of purchase means the time of successful payment, therefore, particular attention should be paid to checking whether the payment of the route ticket has been successful, given that the purchase of a route ticket can only be made online by bank card on the hu-go.hu website.

Otherwise, the rules applicable to the route ticket have not changed, this type of road use provides authorization for a single journey, without interruption, based on the vehicle parameters specified at the time of purchase. It is important to note that the route and vehicle parameters defined in the route ticket cannot be modified and that the route ticket is non-transferable and non-refundable.

More flexible toll payment with an on-board unit 

Our company recommends the use of an on-board unit (OBU) for the payment of tolls for the road use of vehicles exceeding the maximum authorized total mass of 3.5 tons, given its much greater flexibility than that of the route ticket.

For toll declaration and payment using the on-board unit, you must register at the HU-GO system, where toll payments can be made from a HU-GO current account with a pre-paid balance. In case of choosing this toll payment method, it is also necessary to enter into a contract with a toll declaration operator of NTPS Plc., who will transfer the road use data from the on-board unit to our company.
